The Only Way to Change Your Life

There are some things you just can’t change.

Today’s weather, for example.

Other people’s choices, another infuriating example.

Or what about the past? Unless time travel has been invented and no one told me (rude), you can’t change the past either.

You CAN change your life, and that is a beautiful wonderful thing; however — and here is yet another infuriating truth — you don’t change your life much at all by changing your situation. If you take your same self into a new situation, it’s the same life with an updated look. And I’m all for updates, but that’s not really what we’re talking about here.

To change your life, you have to change yourself: your thoughts, your stories, your reactions, your contribution, your behavior, your habits…

If that sounds a little overwhelming, here’s some good news: It happens one baby step at a time. And each baby step, each little tiny change, sets you up for the next one until before you know it, you’re living a new, better life.

What is one teeny tiny change you can make today to make your life a teeny tiny bit better? A teeny tiny bit more in line with your values and your passions?

It could be turning off social media or turning on some relaxing music.
